In recent years street pianos, which have been rescued from a fate in landfill, are finding homes on city streets across the world.. Bucking the consumerist trend, they are free, collaborative and accessible to all. While more and more people are moving to live in urban environments, these places are not designed for connection or community. Could it be that people are more social than cities allow them to be?
In this beautifully shot and original documentary, we dig deep into the world of street piano players and their audiences to find out how and why these instruments can create connection and community. We show that there is not one type of person who is drawn to these pianos; it is precisely the diverse nature of the individuals who play them that makes the phenomenon so special.
